This book represents a lifetime goal of putting into writing a true story about the life of my pioneer families and also the life and legend of the people labeled Melungeon, where they came from, their parents, their bloodline, which is based on their own testimony and backed by documented evidence.
The nationality of the Melungeons is based on family traditions which were handed down from one generation to another, including my own families. Tracking these old pioneer families from the Clinch to their migration starting points and walking on the land where they walked has been a fantastic journey. So come and go with me to all the creeks, rivers, courthouses, towns and farms, where they lived before migrating to Newman Ridge and the Clinch River Valley. This book also includes genealogy of my extended pioneer families including Goins, Minor, Bledsoe, Fisher, Hurd, Wallen, Johnson, Riddle, Rogers, Lawson, Reed, Vanzant, Arrington, England and Sizemore.
