Joanne Pezzullo is a renowned Appalachian and Melungeon researcher.  Her Appalachian lines, among other names, include the Gibson's.  Joanne is the creator and webmaster of the Historical Melungeon website.  She has collected historical  articles on the Melungeon people for years, and shares them on this website, along with articles she thinks are significant to Melungeon research.

Jim Callahan

Author of "Lest We Forget, The Melungeon Colony of Newman's Ridge." Jim is a great-great-grandson of Mahala Mullins through his maternal lineage.  His mother, Ollie, a direct descendant of the original Mullins, Collins, Goings core group of Newman's Ridge, was influenced by the missionaries of Vardy to relocate to new beginning in Indiana.  Callahan graduated from Purdue University.
