Minor DNA Project

The Minor DNA Project is open to all who are interested in working together to find their common heritage through sharing of information and dna testing. All variant spellings are welcome.

 Project Goals:

To see the relationship with the different Minors/many spellings, if any exists.  Or to help group the Minors together with DNA matches.  The Minor's of Virginian are said to be one of the few surnames that began in American and sprang from the name Doodes, a Dutch Sea Captain.

Wondering how to collect the DNA sample?

The Minor Project volunteer administrators have no commercial affiliation with any profit making organization and receives no compensation for services or expenses involved with the project. By setting up a Family Reconstruction Project at Family Tree DNA, the Minor DNA Group is taking advantage of a substantial group discount. It also allows us access to the test results, so we can see whether each of the lines is related (or not related) to one another

Sometimes testing our own Y or mtDNA will not get us back to the fore-parent whose test we need. If you can't be tested for a known Minor line, you can help by donating money to help those who can be tested.
